In case you’re wondering, that picture at the top of my blog, it’s my family on some sidewalk in New Haven when my son graduated from law school.  (My daughter graduated from college that same weekend!) Those are his feet on the right.  My daughter’s on the left.  My wife is in the middle.  And I have a son-in-law now.  His feet weren’t available at the time.

You can now add to your list of unsolved questions…  Why don’t my wife’s pants (third person from the right) go all the way to her shoes?  Why is my son (second from the right) standing on only one foot?  And why is my brother-in-law (on the far right) wearing shorts in September?  (He lives in Florida and may not actually own any full-length pants.)

“But wait! There’s more feet in the header?” (Wow, nothing gets by you.) Yes, there are extra feet. “Who are those people?!” Nice of you to ask. Thanks to our friend, Lauren, who took our Thanksgiving picture, I can finally show you some more of my family, myself included. As for the shot, they’re all camera shy, despite being incredibly good-looking people.  And no, none of us is in the witness protection program.

Please save your applause for the end.  From left to right, the feet belong to:

– My favorite (and only) son-in-law, standing behind my grandson.
– My favorite grandson.
– My daughter. (Way to go on too many things to list!  You too, Son.)
– My wonderful brother-in-law standing behind another grandson.
– My other favorite grandson.
– My son who actually has 2 legs, not just the one that’s easy to see.
– My wife. (After all these years, I still love her like crazy.)

And those last legs on the right?  That’s me.  Please don’t hesitate to say “Hey.” should you recognize me on the street.

Why “WordFeeder”?  Because I write my best stuff sitting at my kitchen table, looking out the window at the bird feeder on my deck.  That’s where I got the idea for the name.  I like to think of this blog as a place where people come and go, pick up some of my words, and now and then leave a few of their own.

What you’ll see here is short pieces about different things that come to mind.  Lately, because there’s an election coming up, they’ve been a lot about politics, but that won’t always be the case.  Mainly, I just like to write.  Feel free to take a break from whatever you’ve had going on in your head all day, and let me know what you think.

Oh, one technical note we need to get out of the way… All written materials, photographs and art originated by WordFeeder are copyrighted by the author of the WordFeeder blog as of the date they were posted, or earlier. All rights reserved. Questions about these copyrights or about the use of WordFeeder materials should be addresed via e-mail to Hey@Wordfeeder.us. Thanks.

Lately, in fact it’s one of my New Year’s Resolutions, I’ve been thinking that I want to focus more on writing my Short Fiction instead of political and social posts. I’ve still got plenty to say about the latter, and risk going nuts if I don’t write what’s on my mind, at least occasionally. It’s just that get a bigger kick out of writing the stories, a more creative process, a literary high that gets me back to my laptop even when I hardly have time to sleep. (For more political stuff, be sure to visit my political blog, www.NextContestant.us.)

  4. Thanks, Shirley. Nice of you to stop by.

What was it that interested you the most? I’m thinking about concentrating on my flash fiction. Less stressful, more fun. What do you think?
